You’re on the couch on a beautiful weekend, with a bottle of your favorite drink and some popcorn. Turn on the TV, then turn on the stick, sit comfortably on the sofa and find that your Amazon TV Stick refuses to go beyond the Amazon logo. Not knowing yet what could be the problem with the Fire TV logo stuck on the screen, the first advice I give you is to restart the stick.

If you don’t fix this but you’re going to fix it, you should know that there are several reasons why the Fire TV Stick gets stuck on the Amazon logo screen. It could be fixed in a minute or take hours, depending on how you go about it. Thankfully, I have also faced a similar problem, and below I offer you a list with the 6 best methods to fix it.
1. Wait
If your Fire TV Stick doesn’t boot past the Amazon logo screen, you shouldn’t panic. You shouldn’t do anything but wait. According to the Amazon Fire TV Support Center, leaving the Fire TV Stick on for 25 minutes (while still on the Amazon logo screen) would end up completing the boot process.
So yeah, wait. If your device is still stuck on the Amazon logo page after 25-30 minutes, skip to the other troubleshooting options below.
2. Connect to a power outlet
To start and function properly, the Fire TV Stick must have sufficient power. If this is missing (insufficient electrical power) it could cause the streaming stick to freeze on the Amazon logo page during startup or even fail to start. If your Fire TV Stick is stuck on the Amazon logo screen, make sure the device’s USB cable is plugged into an appropriate power supply (ideally, the one that came with the Fire TV Stick) and then plugged into a power outlet. This ensures that the device has enough power to boot and stay on while in use.
Note- It is recommended that you use the Fire TV Stick with the supplied USB power adapter. If you can’t find the original USB power supply for Fire TV, you can use an alternative one with the same rating (5V / 1A) as the official one.
Is your Fire TV stick plugged into a power outlet but still gets stuck on the Amazon logo screen while booting? Proceed to the next troubleshooting.
3. Change HDMI port
You can also try placing the Fire TV Stick on a different port on your TV and check if it boots past the Amazon logo screen. Amazon also includes an HDMI extension cable with Fire TV Stick, and you can use it to verify that it works with your TV or monitor’s HDMI port.
Also, if your Fire TV stick is connected to your TV via an HDMI hub or HDMI splitter, you need to unplug the device from the hub / splitter and plug it directly into the TV’s HDMI port. Some HDMI hubs can affect the power available to the Fire TV Stick.
Note: If you are using Fire TV Stick 4K and want to watch 4K UHD resolution content, you need to know that your TV or monitor must be HDCP 2.2 compatible. Check Amazon’s support page to watch 4K Ultra HD content using the Fire TV Stick.
It is worth noting that if multiple HDMI devices are connected to the TV, this can cause interference and dropouts to the Fire TV Stick. In addition to causing the Fire TV Stick to keep restarting by itself, having multiple HDMI devices connected to the TV could also cause the device to freeze during startup.
Unplug all other HDMI devices connected to the TV, turn on the Fire TV Stick to check if it boots past the Amazon logo screen. If not, move on to the next option below.
4. Let’s put it on pause
Overheating also causes the Fire TV Stick to malfunction. Temporarily unplugging the Fire TV Stick from its outlet/power source for a couple of minutes could help “update” the device and fix whatever is blocking it on the Amazon logo screen. Leave the device unplugged for about 10-30 minutes, clean the ports and plug it back in.
By the way, when you reconnect the Fire TV Stick, make sure the device is placed in a well-ventilated, open space, within a reasonable distance from other electronic devices or appliances. This will help prevent the Fire TV Stick from overheating.
5. Try Alternative TV and Fire TV Stick
This is just to confirm which device is not working – your TV or Fire TV Stick? Try using the Fire TV Stick on another TV to see if it launches past the Amazon logo screen. If so, you need to check that the HDMI port of the previous TV is compatible with the streaming stick. You need to contact the TV manufacturer’s customer support.
Alternatively, you could also use another Fire TV Stick on the same TV if you have one or borrow one from a friend. If the new Fire TV Stick boots past the Amazon logo, it’s obvious that the old Fire TV Stick is faulty. In this case, you can restore the device to factory settings or return it to the point of purchase (if it is still covered by the specified warranty period) for repair or replacement.
6. Reset Fire TV Stick
The presence of corrupt apps and files on the Fire TV Stick may have blocked it while using it or stuck on the Amazon logo screen during startup. Resetting your Fire TV Stick will remove corrupt files that are preventing it from starting properly. We have written a guide with everything you need to know about resetting your Amazon Fire TV Stick to factory settings, and if none of the above solutions worked, you should try too.
