How to connect Apple AirPods with your Android smartphone step by step
- As with any device connected to the phone, the first step will always be to activate Bluetooth on your mobile phone or tablet. To do this go to Settings – Bluetooth – Activate. The detected devices will appear below. You can also click on the “search for device” option.
- Once this is done, take the box with the AirPods inside and open the lid. If you look at the back of the box there is a circular slot like a button that you can press. Hold that button until the LED light lights up. Once this is done, the Apple headphones should already enter the Bluetooth radar of the phone or tablet we are trying to pair.
- On your Android device, go to the Bluetooth section and wait until the headphones appear in the “available devices” section. Press on to connect them and voila!
Limited functions for Android
Although AirPods can have many advantages, they are clearly intended for use with their Apple devices… they are brothers. Therefore, there are some features offered by these headphones that you cannot use with your Android phone or tablet.
These functions are, for example, gestures. You won’t be able to activate Google Assistant by tapping on the headset as with Siri. Nor can you ask the assistant to make a call. Instead, you can use the right headset to pause and play music, which is basic, and if you call someone or receive a call, you can also use them in the conversation.
