Later this 2018, Apple is expected to release its own AirPower charging station which will charge your iPhone, AirPods and Apple Watch all at the same time. To use this charging station to charge your AirPods, you will need to spend $69 to get a wireless charging case for your AirPods. This is in addition to whatever the AiErPower mat will cost. However, if you already have a Qi charger, you can easily set up the same charging functionality on your AirPods for as little as $3.

To do this, we will need to use an iPhone compatible charging pad, some scotch tape and a cheap silicon case for the AirPods to make it nice and tidy.
Here are the things you will need to purchase – $2 Wireless Charging Pad | $1 AirPods Case.
Step #1 – Unpack the Charging Pad
Once you have purchased the $2 Charging Pad, you need to remove its outer layer.
It is glued together with a bit of adhesive. You can use your nails to pry open them from the top and gently take off the entire plastic cover.
Now, you should have a copper charging coil, the electronics board and a short Lightning cable.
Step 2 – Wrap Charging Pad Around AirPods
Now, you need to unpack a layer of the copper coil so that there is some space between the coil and the board.
Now, you need to wrap the copper coil on one side of the AirPods case, the board on the other side and then connect the Lightning cable to the bottom of the AirPods case.
Then take some scotch tape and stick the board and the copper wire to the AirPods. Put the AirPods on your Qi charger to check if the AirPods are charging. Make sure that the coil is facing downwards when you put the AirPods on your Qi charger.
Step 3 – Put On the Silicon Case
To give it a good look, you should just put this entire setup in the $1 Silicon Case.
That is all! Now you have your wireless AirPods setup! If you do not already have a Qi charging pad, you can purchase it online for a few bucks.
