Alcatel were more than ready at the 2018 Mobile World Congress, releasing lots of affordable smartphones and tablets including the Alcatel 1T 10. The 10.1-inch tablet is a much bigger and powerful version of the 1T 7.
Page Contents:
The tablet packs a bunch and it’s affordable as well. Sports a bezel-less 10.1-inch screen, 16GB storage space and 4000mAh battery. Without further ado, meet the Alcatel 1T 10.
Design
The 1T 10 obviously looks bigger in terms of total size, housing a 10.1-inch screen. It sports a Plastic overall body as well, it’s very comfortable to hold with one hand. But in general you might actually need two hands to operate it, the rear camera is at the top left corner with no LED flash in sight. There’s a rear loudspeaker by the right, dishing out quality music and bass from two grilles.
Just like its little sibling, it has no fingerprint scanner as well which is really disappointing to say the least. Turning over to the sides, the volume keys and power buttons are present as it measures 9.35 mm slim. Not only is it bulky by the sides, it weighs a ton as well, an astonishing 415g, almost x2 of its sibling. The 10.1-inch tablet is available in Black and Blue colors only.
Display
Unlike the smaller version, the 1T 10 is bezel-less with super minimal bezels, reaching an impressive 75% screen to body ratio. Nonetheless, some bezels are still pretty much visible on all sides as the selfie camera sits at the top bezel.
A massive 10.1-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen is ready to display it all, from movies to mobile games and the rest. Has a screen resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels and 149 pixel per inch density for intense gaming and clear visuals.
Hardware and Software
Under the hood is the same MediaTek MT8321 chip with 4-cores of processor and 32-bit CPU architecture on the 1T 7. The processor reaches a clock speed of 1.3 GHz as well, while the ARM Mali-400 MP2 is in charge of graphics. The graphics processor also comes with 2-cores and reaches a speed of 500 MHz with 28nm process technology.
There’s no improvement in the RAM space here, there’s only just 1GB of RAM space available. Reaching a memory speed of about 500MHz for just light multi-tasking. The internal storage space has been improved from 8GB to 16GB, if it isn’t enough, you can upgrade up to 64GB with memory card. Alcatel 1T 10 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo Go edition with modified user interface.
Camera
For photography, there’s a 5MP rear camera with no LED flash. The camera can capture only 2K resolution images, with photo dimension of just 2592 x 1944 pixels. The pixel quality will be much lower because of the big screen obviously. At the front, there’s a 5MP selfie camera that is ideal for video calls and selfies as well. You can also record videos of 720 pixels at 30 frames per second.
Battery
Powering the Alcatel 1T 10 is a 4000mAh non-removable Li-Po battery with fast charging technology. With the fast charging feature, it shouldn’t take more than 2.3 hours to fully charge up the battery from 0% to 100%.
