The Alcatel A5 LED is a mid-range device released by the French smartphone company (which is owned by Nokia by the way). The Alcatel A5 LED doesn’t come with top-notch smartphone features but sports a unique aesthetic quality that makes it stand out among many other devices. Let’s see what the A5 LED is made of.
DESIGN & DISPLAY
Per appearance and design, the Alcatel A5 LED is just another basic rectangular shaped smartphone. Large bezels, home button (which is also where the fingerprint sensor is embedded), soft navigation buttons, a secondary camera and a LED flash to the left of the earpiece all occupy the frontal.
On the rear however, the Alcatel A5 LED comes with a special back panel that lights up when operations like playing music and notifications are ongoing on your smartphone. The back LED panel comes with all versions of the Alcatel A5 LED more like an accessory or a detachable phone case. It can be easily attached and removed as you can choose to use it on the Alcatel A5 or not. So if you aren’t a fan of your phone lighting up during the day or night. No worries.
The first image to the left shows the Alcatel A5 LED without the LED panel. The other three images shows the different colours and light pattern of the LED light.
Good thing is, you have total control on how or when the LED lights come on. There is a dedicated application (Light Show) that enables you choose the application(s), notifications and other things that triggers the LED lights.
The Alcatel A5 LED comes with a 5.2 inch IPS display with a display resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and a 282 ppi density.
PROCESSOR, OS AND STORAGE
There are two different storage version of the Alcatel A5 LED smartphone. The first comes with a RAM and ROM storage combo of 2GB and 16GB respectively. The second version has a much bigger RAM of 3GB and built-in storage of 32 GB.
Both versions come out of the box with the Android v6.0 Marshmallow operating system, a 1.3 GHz Octa core Mediatek MT6753 processor, and both have dedicated Micro SD card slot for up to 64GB.

CAMERA AND BATTERY
The primary camera of the Alcatel A5 LED is an 8 Megapixels lens and the secondary, 5 Megapixels. Both lenses have their individual LED flash light.
The Alcatel A5 LED comes with a Lithium Ion battery with a capacity of 2,800mAh. The battery may not give you up to 24 hours of usage due to the LED lights which would also take its own share of battery juice.
PRICING AND AVAILABILITY
The Alcatel A5 LED has been launched and is available for purchase across many stores for about 200 Euros.
