AllCall Atom – Review
Japanese OEM AllCall released the affordable device, the AllCall Atom with midrange specs. The phone comes with dual rear camera, just like other midrange smartphones these days. It’s available on Gearbest for just $69.99, but what else does it offer? Lets have a thorough review of the device before coming to a conclusion, shall we?
Design
AllCall Atom is quite stunning i must say, with a sleek and smooth back. The body was made completely from Aluminium Alloy with brilliant finishing touches. Its comfortable to hold as well, thanks to its smooth and curved edges. The AllCall Atom logo is stylishly at the back while the dual rear camera is at the top left.
Both cameras are horizontal with the LED Flash right beside it, on top of the antenna line. It sports a loudspeaker at the bottom, and measures 8.5mm in thickness. The device is very light i must confess, weighing 152g, probably because it has little battery capacity. AllCall Atom supports dual nano-sim and its available in Black, Red and Gold colors.
Display
There are still bezels here though, with a physical home button that doubles as a fingerprint sensor. There are extremely narrow bezels by the sides, giving the display a longer look when in landscape mood. The selfie camera sits pretty at the top bezel with other sensors. The 5.2-inch JDI IPS HD Capacitive touchscreen has a much fatter look to the sides.

It boasts of a screen resolution of 1280×720 pixels and 282 pixel per inch density. The screen offers a midrange viewing experience for light users no doubt. The 2.5D curved glass screen is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 4 offering scratch and dust resistant. It has full GFF lamination and a 1000:1 contrast ratio, 420 cd/m2 and up to 83% NTSC. The screen boasts of a 178 degree viewing angle display, perfect for light users.
Hardware and Software
It houses the MediaTek MT6737 chipset with Quad-core processor reaching a clock speed of 1.3 GHz. No surprises here, that’s a standard processor for budget smartphones tho. In the graphics department, the ARM Mali-T720 MP2 processor with 2-Cores is in control reaching a speed of 600MHz. Boasting of a 64-bit CPU architecture and 28nm process technology for standard performance.
The 2GB RAM space on this affordable beauty reaches a memory speed of 640MHz. In terms of storage, there’s a 16GB storage space upgradeable up to 64GB with microSD using the sim 2 slot. AllCall Atom runs smoothly on Android 7.0 Nougat with modified user interface.
Camera
At the back, there’s a dual 8MP + 2MP rear snapper with f/2.2 aperture that takes 3K resolution images. Yes, both rear cameras on the AllCall Atom can capture photographs with 3264 x 2448 pixels in dimension. Both cameras has a LED flash beside it and other features to help take clear photos in low light. For selfies, there’s a 5MP selfie camera with no front LED flash in sight.
Battery
AllCall Atom houses a 2100mAh non-removable Li-Po battery, with no fast battery charging feature. It shouldn’t take long to charge up a 2100mAh battery, not more than 2.5 hours tops.
