The AnTuTu 3D Bench, AnTuTu Benchmark and AITUTU Benchmark applications disappeared from the Play Store, without any previous announcement and almost without a trace. And despite being an application used by many users and with several daily downloads, this has not deterred Google from removing these applications from its services at all.
That said, we know that this disappearance is mainly due to the violation of security and advertising policies by the company Cheetah Mobile (the company responsible for these applications). And as such, it is no longer possible to install them from the Play Store. Well … at least for now!
AnTuTu applications disappear completely from the Play Store! Can they come back?
Therefore, Google has been uncompromising especially with Asian companies when it comes to violating Play Store policies. And since Cheetah Mobile is currently suspected of violating Google’s privacy policies and still accused of advertising fraud, all of its applications have been withdrawn from Google services until otherwise instructed.
So, although the case is already being investigated by Android Police and from the beginning, it was not possible to find any relationship between Cheetah Mobile and AnTuTu applications, it is important to note that Fu Sheng is the CEO of both companies and that this it was enough for Google to move forward with this decision.
But here’s what Google said:
“We don’t want any Cheetah Mobile application for mobile devices on our platform.”
In short, from now on if you want to install any of these AnTuTu applications you will have to download the APK files and only then try to install the applications in question.
So far it is not known for how long this decision will be maintained or whether it will be final. So we really have to wait and see what happens.
