DESIGN
The design of the Archos Diamond Tab is what I refer to as a simplified beauty. Its frontal is simply designed with average-sized top, bottom and side bezels with the bottom bezel housing the “ARCHOS” logo. When held in a landscape manner, the front camera is spotted at the top right portion of the right side bezel. However, when held in the portrait fashion, the rear camera is located at the top left corner along with a LED flash underneath it. The only colour the tablet comes in is the Black colour.
DISPLAY
Talking about large-sized tablets, the Diamond Tab also belongs to that category. It has a screen size of 10.1 inches. The screen display type is the IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen. The screen resolution of the tablet is high, earmarking itself at 1600 x 2560 pixels, to handle the crispness of texts and icons. The pixel density of the touchscreen is 299 ppi. The screen display has 16M colours as well as multi-touch capability.
CAMERA
The camera department of the Diamond Tab is a darling, I must profess. Its rear camera has a 13MP shooter for capturing images. It records videos at 1080p@30fps. A LED flash is available for brightening images in off-light conditions. The camera also has features such as Geo tagging, touch focus and face detection. The secondary camera uses a 5MP sensor to take selfies. There’s no LED flash in the secondary camera segment.
PROCESSOR AND OS
The powering of the tablet is handled by two CPUs which are namely – Dual core Cortex-A72 and Quad core Cortex A-53. The chipset available to the device is the Rockchip RK3399. The production of graphics is taken care of by Mali-T860 MP4.
STORAGE AND RAM
Archos Diamond Tab has a large 64GB storage capacity to its name. The 64GB capacity covers the storage of various forms of files and documents. As powerful as the storage capacity is, there is a tendency for it to have a micro SD card slot. However, this is yet to be confirmed as an official statement about the micro SD slot is yet to be out. A massive 4GB RAM handles the running of apps. Oh, words! Smooth multitasking and large storage capacity at one’s fingertips.
BATTERY
Providing lasting duration to the tablet is a non-removable 6,600 mAh Li-Po battery.
PRICE AND AVAILABILITY
Archos Diamond Tab was announced in August 2017. Its release date is slated for October 2017. When released, the tablet will sell at the price of 300 euros.
