Asus Rog Phone 2 Specs Review, 6000MAH Battery, Triple Camera

Asus has announced the Rog Phone 2 in the month of July 2019. It is now popularly known as the ‘Republic of Gamers Phone 2. This phone is a testimony that the company wants to do something better than what they did last year for fans. The latest phone has a bigger display screen, a better and quicker refresh for that display and the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus! Wow! This is the first phone announced to be in line for use of that superb chipset. Let’s hope it will be the first in the hands of users to tout this technology in real life.

Asus Rog Phone 2 Design and Display

The smartphone comes with metal frame and good body design. Dimensions are 171.0 x 77.6 x 9 mm, while it weighs 240 grams. It also boasts a Gorilla Glass 6 front and a glossy back for the standard version.

When you look at the display, you find AMOLED 120Hz capacitive touchscreen. The screen size is 6.59 inches, which I believe good for gaming and watching movies. This is one of the largest mobile phone display screens out there. The display resolution is 1080 x 2340 pixels. But the pixel density is 391 ppi. Other features include 108 percent DCI-P3 color gamut, ten bit HDR support.

Camera Features

There are three confirmed cameras for Asus Rog Phone 2. The rear camera of the phone is 48 MP and it comes with Quad Bayer sensor. There is another of 13 MP, known for its 125-degree FOV fixed focus and dual LED flash.

Features of fixed focus, continuous shooting, HDR, and many others like these can be found on the smartphone camera department. Following that, 24 MP is situated at the front for selfies. This comes with f 2.2 aperture.

Hardware and Software

Asus Rog Phone 2  runs on Android 9.0 Pie with optional RDG UI overlay modified user interface. This is fortified with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset. It arrives with 7nm technology processing and 64-bit architecture. There is also the CPU of Octa core kryo, while the GPU is Adreno 640.

Storage Capacity

The Asus Rog Phone 2 is rich with 12GB of RAM, which cannot be expanded but the internal storage is 512GB of 3.0 storage. This does justice for a phone like this and it also shows that the phone is truly a powerful gaming phone.

 Network and Connectivity

Nothing spectacular here as this Asus Rog Phone 2  is a device making use of two nano SIM cards. It is able to make use of 4G internet on both slots. The strength of this 4G LTE is up to 150Mbps upload, while other connectivity components are Wi-Fi, hotspot, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, NFC, USB 2.0, audio jack, and other features. As you can see, this department has all the features of high-end mobile smartphone.

Battery Power

The Asus Rog Phone 2 has a powerful battery. It is a non-removable Li-Po 6000 mAh battery. Nothing to fear as this will be a backup for more than 48 hours. The bad here is that I expected this phone to have wireless charging, which it doesn’t have but it has fast charging options of HyperCharge 30W.

Pros

  • Superb display features
  • Powerful camera features
  • Fingerprint security
  • Lots of usable memory space
  • Powerful battery

Cons

  • Lack of various colors to choose from
  • No wireless charging

Price and Availability

Conclusively, the price of Asus Rog Phone 2 smartphone is unknown but estimates put it around $899 and above. For availability, the smartphone is available for shipping as from of July 2019 and onward.
