Asus Zenfone Max (M1) ZB555KL launched at MWC2023 – Review, Full Specs and Price

Asus Zenfone Max (M1) ZB555KL was launched at the 2018 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The company introduced new smartphones at the event, but I’ll be reviewing the Asus Zenfone Max (M1) ZB555KL here and others later on.

The new device comes with an iPhone X-Like dual rear camera, I’ve seen a lot of OEM going with the vertical dual camera at the top left. The Max (M1) ZB555KL packs 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage and dual 13MP + 8MP rear shooters among other features. Want to know more? Stay with me.


Asus Zenfone Max (M1) ZB555KL

A little bit different from what we typically see from Asus, sporting a Metal overall unibody and covered in glass. The beauty of the device lies on the dual vertical camera at the top left with dual-LED flash just underneath.

The fingerprint scanner is just above the ASUS logo at the middle. It has a smooth overall back that is quite comfortable to hold and flaunt. The power button and volume keys are present by the side, speaking of sides it measures 8.7 mm slim. The Max (M1) ZB555KL weighs 150g overall and available in Deepsea Black, Sunlight Gold and Ruby Red colors.

The bezel-less display boasts up to 74.75% screen to body ratio, with super minimal bezels. It has tiny narrow bezels as well as minimal bottom bezel, while the top bezel houses the selfie camera, speaker grille and ambient light sensor.

The 5.5-inch HD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen boasts of a resolution of 1440 x 720 Pixels. Details on the screen should come great when playing games or watching movies, it has 245 pixel per inch density and 18:9 aspect ratio.

Hardware and Software

The system on chip is Snapdragon 425 from Qualcomm with Quad-core processor. The processor boasts of a maximum speed of 1.4 GHz, it has a 28nm process technology and 64-bit CPU architecture. Handling graphics is the Qualcomm Adreno 308 graphics processor for immersive gaming experience.

For multitasking, there’s a 3GB RAM space that reaches a memory speed of 667MHz. While for storing files, there’s 32GB internal storage space which of course is upgradeable to 256GB with a memory card. The Zenfone Max (M1) ZB555KL runs on Android 7.1 Nougat operating system with ZenUI 5.0 skin.


At the back, there’s a 13MP + 8MP dual rear camera with dual-LED flash. Both camera will work together to capture photographs with 4163 x 3122 pixels in dimension. You can record videos of 1080 pixels at 30 frames per second, both camera has an aperture of f/2.0 and other quality features to capture 4K resolution images. Take selfies with the 8MP selfie camera that has an aperture of f/2.2.


Powering the Asus Zenfone Max (M1) ZB555KL up is a 4000mAh non-removable Li-Po battery with fast charging technology. Charging up the battery from 0% to 100% should take between 2-3 hours.
