One the new sets of iPhones, Apple has switched the physical Home button with the gesture-based Home bar. When you first look at it, it seems too cumbersome, Of course, the App Switcher gesture could have been better, but all it needs is a little getting used to.
Trying to navigate to the App Switcher might turn out to be too tedious for you, but with the addition of new shortcuts to the Home bar, you might not even need to go to the App Switcher at all (unless you want to force quit apps). You can switch between your most recent apps by sliding on the Home bar. The best part is that it even works on screens like the home screen where the Home bar isn’t displayed.
How to Quickly Launch Last Used App from Home Screen
There are a lot of times when you land on the Home screen (intentionally or unintentionally), and you need to get back to the app you were using. Before, you could only get back to the app by tapping on from the Home Screen or opening the App Switcher.
However, now, you can use this new gesture to open your most recent app in less than a second.
Simply swipe left on the bottom of the screen (where the Home Bar usually is). That’s all; you will be taken to the app you used last.
