What matters to fans of BlackBerry phones? The first thing may not be the keyboard but they could be the design structure that helps them to remember those nostalgic good old days. BlackBerry Key2, launched in June 2018 by TCL Communications, is significant for the same features KeyOne was famous for.
But BlackBerry Key2 even does more. The BlackBerry Key2 has a refined keyboard, an enchanting design and build, it combines all those with security, privacy, and battery life features that are commendable.
Design and Display
Let’s start with the way BlackBerry Key2 is built. This smartphone 1mm thinner and 12 grams lighter, but a little taller than BlackBerry KeyOne. When you hold it, it’s more comfortable because it’s got flat edges Look at it and you’ll know that the manufacturer has a thing for making it appear elegant.
BlackBerry Key2 manages to pack a 4.5-inch screen, with bezels that shrunk a bit that you’ll like because it gives a somewhat modern look to the device. However, there’s still the capacitive Android navigation controls below the screen, making you forget momentarily that you’re holding a BlackBerry device.
Find other buttons on the surface of BlackBerry Key2 on the right side. The Power button and the convenience key are also there with easy access and you don’t need too much familiarity tests to get to use the keys with ease.
BlackBerry Key2 has 1620 x 1080 IPS LCD screen resolution, a pixel density of 434 pixels per inch and 3.2 aspect ratio. You would have no trouble with the screen because it is bright, sharp, and colorful. Even while you’re in the sun you will have no trouble seeing the content of BlackBerry Key2 screen.
Do you like watching movies on your phone’s screen? BlackBerry Key2 may not offer excellent service here because the screen isn’t large enough.
Camera Features
BlackBerry Key2 has a camera that’s not as big as the one you find on KeyOne. But this device has dual cameras now. Someone may say dual camera. Oh yes!
The BlackBerry Key2 has two 12 MP camera on the rear. One is a f/1.8 aperture, the other with f/2.6 aperture. There is 2x optical zoom which is able to perform a great deal in daylight and a portrait mode; excellent choices one can make.
You can see that the BlackBerry Key2 is able to detect the primary focus and blur the background, adding a very professional look to your photos.
Operating System and Storage
BlackBerry Key2 runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 which shows that the smartphone pales behind the high-end Android phones such as the Samsung Galaxy S8 or S9 devices. The internal storage is 64GB and also 128GB 6GB of RAM.
However, the Operating System is Android 8.1 Oreo, GPU Adreno 512.
When doing multiple tasks at once, apps may no longer open very quickly but you will not encounter any heavy obstructions as you use the BlackBerry Key2 mobile device.
Network Connection
BlackBerry Key2 makes use of GSM, HSPA and LTE network. It is 4G enabled and that’s a good thing. You can make use of Wi-Fi or hotspot on the device.
It also makes use of Bluetooth 5.0, A-GPS, Glonass, and is FM radio enabled. It makes use of USB3.0 Type-C 1.0 reversible connector.
Price and Availability
The cost of BlackBerry Key2 costs $650 on Amazon and on BestBuy. This may slightly differ even on the same platform, depending on vendors putting it up for sale. That’s a little more expensive than the predecessor KeyOne. Key2 has been available in offline and online stores since June 2018.
BlackBerry should bring up new innovation. We are fed up of the same type of phones. Do something that will be the first of its kind. Curve face, foldable phone, transparent phone, wristwatch phone, etc. We need something uncommon.
Some of us are still in love with BB, but your recent production is not what this generation is expecting. Taking us back to the analogue keyboard is out of it.
Well said Michael, they really need to make something crazy, iPhone and many other manufacturers have made a lot of changes to their devices of recent. Who knows maybe BlackBerry is trying not to follow the crowd and be unique
BlackBerry remains my phone ever. The producers should not let it go into extinction by wrong production and obsolete idea.
