Bolt Provides Paid Internships for Women with #Drive4WITech Campaign

Bolt, a popular ride-hailing company in Nigeria is providing a new opportunity for women to earn. The opportunity is called Drive4WITech. This move is to encourage women’s inclusion in technology.

The program is exclusively for women because the company has told men to back off. As March 2021 draws on, Bolt is determined to kickstart careers for women. It is offering paid internships in operations, marketing, PR, and engineering for 12 women across Africa.

Bolt is opening up the drive to members of the public. They must be willing and ready to start a career in technology. Participants may have to be nominated on Twitter and Instagram. Those who nominate their friends will have to explain why they believe the person is right for the role they are nominating her for. They may also explain what she can contribute to the tech industry if she is given the opportunity.

To nominate, search on Instagram or Twitter using the hashtag #Drive4WITech. Make sure to tag @bolt_nigeria on Instagram and also @boltapp_ng on Twitter. For Bolt to see it, your page must be made public not private.

Bolt is poised to announce top finalists during the month of April but the internship program will commence in May 2021. The company also revealed that for the past five months the best Bolt driver has been a woman. It is also offering free ride credit to people who are able to answer their questions correctly on Twitter.

This drive is Bolt’s way of saying that more women in tech mean more innovation, better problem solving, and more diverse, progressive ideas.
