How to create a Google account on your Android device. Creating a Google account is super easy. Don’t know how to do it? No problem! Here’s how to set up a Google account without having any kind of problem. Creating a new Google account will only take a few minutes. Take your Android device, click on the Settings icon and select the “Account” option. The next step is to tap “Add Account” at the bottom of the screen and then choose “Google”.
This will open a page where you can log into your account or create a new one. Select “More Options”, then tap “Create Account”. When finished, follow the on-screen instructions by entering your personal information, selecting a username and password, and completing the process by accepting Google’s terms of service.
How to create a Google account on your Android phone
- Open the Settings app.
- Scroll down to Accounts.
- Tap Add Account.
- Tap Google.
- Tap Create Account.
- Type the name associated with the account. While it is not necessary to use your real name, if this will be your main account, it is recommended that you use your real name.
- Tap Next.
- Enter the date of birth associated with the account. Google requires all users to be at least 13 years old and in some countries to be even older in order to have an account that can use Google Pay or a credit card to pay for anything, the account holder must be 18 years old.
- Select a genre. If you do not wish to be identified by your gender, you can select Decline to declare.
- Tap Next.
- Enter your username. This username will become your Gmail address and how you log into your account. If your desired username has already been used, you will be prompted to choose a different one and offer suggestions.
- Tap Next.
- Enter a new password for your account. The password must contain at least eight characters, it is not necessary to have a number or a special character if you want to use simple letters.
- Retype the new password in the Confirm password box. You will be told how strong or weak the password you have selected is.
- You will be asked if you want to add a phone number. This phone number can be used to verify your identity, it will help you log into your account and help people find you if they have your phone number. Tap Yes, I’m here to add your number or Skip to opt-out.
- Google will present its terms of use. After reading the sections that interest you, tap Agree.
- Your primary Google account is now set up and your username and password length will be displayed. Tap Next to exit this screen.
How to create a Google account on your laptop or desktop
Setting up a new Google account is the same on your phone or laptop, but on a desktop, it’s easier because you have to go through fewer screens.
- Go to the Google registration page in your favorite web browser.
- Enter your name, your user name, and password you want to use for your account. Keep in mind that your username will become your Gmail address, so choose something you will easily remember.
- Retype the password in the Confirm password field. This helps you not to type your password incorrectly and to lock yourself out of your new account.
- Click Next.
- If you chose your first username, the username box will turn red. Enter a different username in the text box to select one of the suggestions below the username box.
- Click Next.
