DEXP Ixion G150 launched with Dual Rear Camera – Review, Specs and Price

Russian company DEXP released a couple of smartphones today, and one of them is the DEXP Ixion G150. The affordable smartphone was launched alongside the Ixion Z255, both of which are already available for sale on Shopping stores.

The Ixion G150 offers great value for money as well, and doesn’t look like a budget smartphone. Sporting the trendy dual rear camera, curved display and packs 16GB storage space. Want to know more? Stay with me.

DEXP Ixion G150

It has a Metal and Plastic mix body that’s such a beauty to look at. It doesn’t look like a budget smartphone one bit, the dual rear shooters reigns at the top left. Beside the shooters, a LED flash sits pretty and ready to take over the night. For fast access to the phone and private apps, a fingerprint scanner is visible in the middle.

The fingerprint sensor is in the usual and perfect position, unlocking the phone in 0.1s. The DEXP logo is at the bottom corner as that rounds the features at the back. Turning over to the curved sides, it measures 9.75 mm slim and weighs 181g overall. In terms of coloring, it’s available in Gold and Black.

Although there are lots of bezels at the top and bottom corner, but take a look at the curved sides. The screen goes all the way to the back, literally. This enables a much taller and realistic view in landscape mode. Even though the screen could only get to 67% screen to body ratio, and dishes out 16:9 aspect ratio, the curved sides is quite compensating.

At the top bezel, the selfie camera, ambient light sensor and speaker grille are present. While at the bottom, there are three navigation buttons to navigate through the phone. Focusing on the screen, the 5-inch IPS capacitive touchscreen is pretty standard. Boasting of 1280 x 720 pixels in resolution and 294 pixel per inch density for immersive visuals and clarity.

Hardware and Software

Executing the job here is the MediaTek MT6737V chip alongside a 64-bit CPU architecture and quad-core CPU frequency. The 4-cores of processor runs at 1.25GHz and also boasts of a 28nm process technology. Administrating graphics is the ARM Mali-T720 MP1 graphics processor clocking at 600MHz.

Only 1GB of RAM space is available here alongside a memory speed of 640MHz for light multitasking. In terms of storage, it houses the usual 16GB of storage space, which you can upgrade further up to 128GB. The Ixion G150 runs on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system with modified user interface.

I think the dual 5MP + 5MP rear camera on the DEXP Ixion G150 is just a show off. The cameras are very disappointing and could only capture 2K resolution images. It’s just like a single 5MP camera and could only take photos with 2582 x 1936 pixels in dimension. The camera comes with a LED flash and other quality features to help even when in dark places. Record videos of 720 pixels at 30 frames per second, take cute selfies and make video calls with the 2MP selfie camera.

Powering the DEXP Ixion G150 is a 2200mAh removable Li-Po battery with no fast charging technology. Even without the fast charging feature, it shouldn’t take more than 2 hours to fully charge up the battery from 0% to 100%.
