The Elephone Fighter was seen in one of Elephone’s store as a rebranded Elephone Soldier with identical specs and features. The Fighter is a new flagship rugged smartphone that will stand the test of time.
Apart from its rugged looks, the device is powered by the Helio X25 chip with deca-core processor. It has 4GB of RAM and 128GB storage, there’s a massive 5000mAh battery working underneath as well. Without further ado, lets meet the Elephone Fighter.
Design
In terms of design, the device is definitely a fighter no doubt. It has an army-level adventurous body with a lot of visible screws letting you know how rugged it is. We also saw in a video how powerful the device is underwater. Its IP68 certifications was on showcase and it lasted for several minutes.
It has a physical rear Compass sensor just incase the phone trips off in the woods. The metal foundation at the top houses the rear camera, speaker, dual-LED flash and SOS button. Turning to the sides, we can see the fingerprint scanner, volume keys and power button.
Display
The screen was kept simple as it dishes out a 16:9 aspect ratio display. The usual features are at the top, like the selfie camera, sensor and speaker. While the bottom bezel houses three navigation buttons. Overall, the screen should survive from falls.
The 5.5-inch FHD+ TFT capacitive touchscreen displays stunning visuals. It boasts of 2160 x 1080 pixels in resolution and 403 pixel per inch density for clear visuals. There’s a Corning Gorilla Glass on top as it stretches up to 73% screen-to-body ratio.
Hardware and Software
Under the hood is the Helio X25 from MediaTek which was built on a older 20nm process node. Nonetheless, it comes with 10-cores of processor clocking at 2.5GHz max, while the ARM Mali-T880 MP4 graphics card is clocked at 850MHz.
For multitasking, you get the same 4GB of RAM space available with a memory speed of 800MHz. In the storage department, you get a bigger 128GB storage space and you can upgrade up to 256GB using a memory card. Of course, it runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.
Camera
The 21MP Sony IMX220 shooter at the rear has f/2.2 aperture, 1.155um pixel size and comes with a dual-LED flash. The camera also boasts of HDR, ISO settings, Macro Mode, Panorama, Scene mode, Self-timer, Touch focus and other features. While the 16MP selfie camera has f/2.0 aperture as well.
Battery
Powering the Elephone Fighter is a 5000mAh non-removable Li-Po battery with fast charging technology. With the fast charging feature, charging the battery from 0% to 100% shouldn’t take up to 2.4 hours.
