Excitement as Google Turns YouTube into a Shopping Site

Soon, it may be possible for YouTubers to shop for items on their favorite channels on YouTube. Creators will include certain products of their choice in their YouTube videos for visitors to see and they can even buy these products. Some creators are already pilots of this program, as YouTube tests a streamlined way for users to buy items that they love on the channels.

The company will put a shopping bag icon on the bottom left of the site screen, while also displaying a list of the featured items. It is seen as a new way for YouTube visitors to purchase items that they love. With this move, YouTube will have encroached on the market share of e-commerce sites that depend on the list and sell items for generating revenue.

It will be a lot easier for shoppers to make buying decisions as they can check out more information on the products they want to buy. Those who want can check out relating videos, or they could just proceed to buy the products of their choice. For now, it is said that only visitors based in the United States will see the shopping bag icon.

People should expect to see creators linking to what they have to sell, which in many ways will represent their expertise. So, expect to see cooking creators linking to their kitchen accessories, gamers hawking game components from the videos they post.

Although people have been selling stuff on YouTube for years, this really presents another opportunity for traders to list their wares and get paid for them. It is exciting because it could spread globally, making the site more popular for people to make money doing what they love to do.

Surely, YouTube will also benefit through this venture because apparently, it will charge creators a certain percentage from their earnings or they could pay a stated amount of money each month for listing their products on YouTube.
