Forgot PIN/Password On Samsung Galaxy S9/S9+? Here’s A Solution

If you’ve somehow forgotten your Samsung Galaxy S9/S9+ pin or password, then you are definitely in the right place.

We store a lot of information on our smartphone these days. Phones have gone from a tiny piece of electronics we use to make just phone calls to a smartphone we can use to do a whole lot more. With all these information being stored on our device it is normal to try to protect it from any and all unwarranted access.

Google has been doing there best to Improve on that, from the early PIN Password to incorporating Patterns, fingerprint sensors/scanners, and the new Face ID. One can’t help but wonder what next there is to phone security. Although, the fingerprint sensor and Face ID is a secondary lock method which means that you will have to set up PIN password before putting either fingerprint and Face ID on top as an extra layer of security.

Some people might see no need to use an extra layer of security since they already have a PIN Password Activated. However, PIN Password can be forgotten, and when that happens, you probably shouldn’t panic as there are three ways to solve this. However, the first two methods hinges on if the Samsung Galaxy S9/S9+ is connected to the internet; WiFi or Data Connection.

First Method – Using Samsung Find My Mobile

  • From this place, you can now reset it and get a temporary the PIN password.

  • Pick up your Samsung Galaxy S9/S9+ and input the temporary PIN password.

  • After it unlocks, Go straight to Settings >> Security and Change it to something you can remember.

Second Method – Using Android’s Find My Device

This method is somewhat similar to the Samsung Find My Mobile service, but this is open to all Android devices. Unlike the first method that is just for Samsung devices. Also, this requires just your Google Account attached to your phone. Since you are using an Android device, there is no way you weren’t Logged in to your Google account.

  • Sign In using your Google Account. (Make sure you use the one you were using on the phone)

  • You should see your device as soon as you Log In.

  • Select Lock.

  • Now follow the on-screen instructions till you get to where you are required to create a new temporary PIN password for your Device.

  • Do that and use the newly created PIN password to unlock your phone and change it in the Settings Menu >> Security to a new one you will be able to remember.

  • Third Method – Performing A Factory Reset

If for some reason you can’t do any of the above mentioned then you can simply factory reset. This should be used as a last resort when all other methods have proven abortive as it will wipe your phone and all its contents. To do this, follow the steps below.

    • Make sure the phone is Turned Off.
  • Now Press and Hold the Bixby Button, Volume Up Button, and Power Button Simultaneously till you see the Samsung Logo.

  • On the off-chance that you see an Android Logo with “no command” then just tap anywhere on the Screen to take you to the next page.

  • Now in that the phone is in Factory Mode, Use the Volume Up and Volume Down Button as Navigations Keys, Navigate to Wipe Data/Factory Reset and Select it using the Power Button.

  • The phone will Factory Reset and Restart Itself. If it doesn’t then turn it on.

  • That’s it. Now you can set up your phone and input a brand new PIN password.
