Gionee launched the S11 last month alongside the S11S. The new device from the S series comes with four cameras as usual and 3410mAh battery. The midrange smartphone also boasts of an Octa-core processor that clocks at 2.5 GHz. The Gionee S11 which is an update to the S10 sure gives true value for little money. The flagship beauty from Gionee retails for less than $350 with mouth watering specs.
Design
Definitely a stunner and would turn heads at any gathering, its metallic chassis unibody was designed to perfection. It has almost the same ‘Diamond Fire’ body as seen on the Tecno Phantom 8. The sleek design on the Gionee S11 reflects light in the most subtle way. It measures 7.8 mm slim, making it very comfortable to hold and flaunt. The stunning device weighs just 165g and available in Moonlight Blue, Space Gold and Cherry Powder colors.
The dual rear camera are at the top left in a vertical format. While the LED flash sits pretty comfortable beside it. Of course it sports a rear fingerprint sensor as well, and Gionee is at the bottom. From the back, the Gionee S11 sure looks like the Tecno Phantom 8, the resemblance is utterly striking. The dual rear camera, fingerprint sensor and the metallic chassis unibody looks almost the same.
Display
It is bezel-less with no apologies, reaching a 74.7% screen-to-body ratio. I think the much reduction in bezels haven’t been this rampant like adding an extra camera at the back. Enjoy immersive visuals with this baby, as it boasts of a brilliant 403 ppi density.

The 5.99-inch IPS LCD bezel-less screen is quite stunning, although the narrow bezels needs to go on the next update. The Gionee logo at the bottom bezel of the S11 is bit of a turn off. I mean we all know it’s a Gionee phone from the back, so that’s kinda stale. The screen boasts of 1080 x 2160 pixels in resolution and you would love playing games on this baby.
Hardware and Software
The brain behind the S11, is no other than the Mediatek MT6763T Helio P23 chipset. While the central processing unit is an Octa-core processor clocking at 2.5 GHz Cortex-A53. Heading the graphics department is the Mali-G71 MP2 GPU offering the best gaming experience.

For multitasking and heavy app launching, there’s a 4GB RAM which lets you multitask through them all. You can store all your favorite games and apps thanks to the available 64GB internal storage on the S11. To expand your horizon, you can also insert a microSD card in the Sim slot 2 and expand up to 256GB. Gionee S11 runs on Android 7.1 Nougat OS out of the box, with Amigo 5.0 UI.
Camera
Gionee are known globally for their love for selfie cameras, as most of the device are focused on selfies. The dual 16MP + 8MP selfie camera on this smartphone will capture your face from all angles. It’s perfect for group selfies, enabling you get a glimpse of everyone of your gang.
At the back, there’s a 16MP + 5MP rear camera for your standard photography and portraits. It comes with lots of features to make your photos brilliant. Features include autofocus, touch focus, face detection, HDR, panorama and a host of other quality features.
