Gmail Confidential Mode For Android is finally here, and we will be taking our time to show you just how it works.

Gmail’s big overhaul of their web interface brought about not only a new look but also new features. We’ve talked about some of those features which include the Gmail Smart Compose Feature and Gmail Confidential Mode on Gmail Web.

However, it seems the Gmail is also looking to bring some if not all of those feature to its Mobile app as they just announced the inclusion of the Confidential Mode to the Mobile App. Now, if you don’t know what the Gmail Confidential Mode is, it is just a way to send a Confidential Email meant for your eyes and the receiver’s only. To Make this possible, Gmail has put things in place to make this possible. Things like an expiration date, at which time the message self-destruct whether or not the person reads it before then.

Also, you get to lock the Email message with a passcode which will be requested upon opening the email message. So the only person that gets to read the contents of the email message is the person that truly owns the Gmail account as the passcode is sent to the phone number attached to the receiver’s email. How To Use Gmail Confidential Mode For Android

The feature doesn’t require you to update your Gmail App. However, I’ll advise you to update the Gmail app if there is an update available on the Google Play store.

• Open The Gmail App on your Android phone and Click on the New Email Message Icon Located at the bottom right corner of the screen.

• Tap the three dots at the top right side of the screen and select Confidential Mode.

• This is where you set the expiration date. You have 5 options – 1 Day, 1 Week, 1 Month, 3 Months and 5 Years.

• After choosing your preferred expiration date, you also get to choose if you would like to make use of the SMS passcode or if you want to leave on Standard.

• Once all that is done, Hit Save at the top right side of the screen and it will take back to where you will write your message.

• Write the message you would like to send and add attachments or any other kinds of stuff you would like to then send the email message.

That’s it. You’ve just sent a Confidential Email Message. The email will self-destruct at the appointed time and will request an SMS passcode depending on if you activated it while setting it up. Pretty simple right?
