Google Duo for Android recently introduced the blur effect for video calls, but now it is preparing to include a new feature currently being tested by the Mountain View company. To provide us with some initial information on this are the developers of XDA Developers, who after updating the app to version 69 were able to manually activate this function which is called Moment Capture.
The purpose of this option, which we remember is not currently publicly available, is rather basic- once activated, in fact, a floating button will be shown in the main screen of the app that will allow you to quickly capture and share screenshots of what is displayed during a video call.
In the event that the function is deactivated, the app will show a warning message to users confirming that it will still be possible to capture the screens through the classic methods that usually involve prolonged pressing of the physical buttons.
You can still appear in the screenshots– people can use the device controls to take screenshots even if the feature is turned off.
Being a feature currently being tested, it is not clear when and if Google will decide to introduce it with subsequent updates of the app. Below we leave you to download the latest version of Google Duo for Android on the Play Store.
