The long-awaited Homtom H5 has been unveiled in the month of September 2018 in India. Homtom H5 arrived with other H series such as H1 and H3. This smartphone can be classed among the mid-range smartphones out there in the market considering its price, storage, battery and camera features.

Design and Display Features of Homtom H5

The primary thing in any mobile phone is the display and for Homtom H5, the device arrived in a 5.7-inch display having a screen resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels. The display type is IPS LCD which is the most popular and the most accepted type of display in mobile phones nowadays.

H5 combines that with a pixel density of 282 ppi. This smartphone has a capacitive touchscreen and is capable of the multi-touch feature. The Homtom H5 comes in colors black and gold. Hopefully, more pretty colors will be added later.

Camera Features

On the rear of the Homtom H5 there is a 16 MP + 2 MP dual camera capable of LED flash, while the front (selfie) camera is 8 MP pixels empowered. Shooting modes include continuous shooting, High Dynamic Range mode (HDR).

Settings for Homtom H5 camera is exposure compensation and the lenses features include digital zoom, auto flash, face detection, and touch to focus. Image resolution is 4616 x 3464 pixels and the camera is able to deliver when it comes to autofocus.

Sensors on Homtom H5 include fingerprint sensor which is positioned to the back of the device, others are the light sensor, proximity, and accelerometer sensors.

Hardware and Performance

As anyone would expect, Homtom H5 comes in with Android v8.1 (Oreo) operating system which w believe will without hitch upgrade to the latest Android. The Homtom H5 is also powered by Quad core, 1.3 GHz processor which works with 3GB of RAM.

The storage option on the device is 32GB that is expandable to by microSD card up to 64GB. H5 runs on 64 bit MediaTek chipset, not a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset.

Network and Multimedia

Wi-Fi features include mobile hotspot working with Wi-Fi 802.11, b/g/n connectivity. Bluetooth on the device is v4.2, and the Homtom H5 is proudly able to handle 2G, 3G, and 4G networks, which means it is capable of operating on the GSM, HSPA, and LTE levels. It also supports A-GPS.

SIM 1 is able to handle 4G bands, 3G band and 2G bands at various levels of speed. It supports GPRS and EDGE. SIM 2 can only handle 2G bands of lower speeds when compared to 3G and 4G. This SIM is capable of only handling GPRS.

Battery Life

Homtom H5 is equipped with 3300 mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery which is able to give users the possibility of working on their handset for a full day. Wireless charging isn’t available on the device for now but fast and USB charging are available.

Price and Availability

H5 price starts at Rs 10,490 as it is the highest of the three variants that Homtom released in the month of September. This device will be available in stores and online before the month of September runs out.
