How to enable Air Motion on LG G8
To enable Air Motion and thus access the settings related to gestures, the steps to follow are very simple, you will also be able later to add or remove some features from the system settings. To activate the gestures, all you have to do is:
- Open the phone settings;
- Under the Extensions section of the General tab, tap the Air Motion entry;
- Then enable the related toggle to activate the gestures.
You can also touch the description of each option, to view an overview of each gesture to view its functions in detail.
Once Air Motion has been enabled on the LG G8, it will be possible to use the gestures by holding the hand about 7-12 cm away from the Z Cam sensors. You will see a colored line appear under the notch of the display, which will indicate the activation of Air Motion. Then move your fingers together until you reach a claw position to bring up the screen aid that will help you use gestures.
What you can do with Air Motion
One of the primary functions of Air Motion on LG G8 is the app short cuts. It will be impossible to set these shortcuts in the Connection and acquisition menu from the gesture settings themselves. Just pass your hand in front of the Z Cam, until the visual aid of the guide appears, then move your hand to the left or right to use the shortcuts.
You can also take a screenshot on your LG G8, pinching your fingers until it has the same claw position. In the Music and video controls tab, you will be able, through the same gestures, to control the media player to reproduce or suspend the contents. It will also be possible to adjust the volume, passing with the hand over the Z Cam, until the guide that appears will become a ring. Turn your hand to the left or right to adjust the volume accordingly.
Finally, incoming calls can be accepted or rejected or alarms ignored. Just like multimedia controls, these actions are handled by holding the hand in a claw position above the Z Cam and scrolling to the left or right when the on-screen help appears.
