Being able to Assign Emergency Contacts on Samsung Galaxy Note 9 gives you the chance to dial the Contacts phone number without having to unlock your phone. This feature isn’t exclusive to the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 as the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ has it as well as some other Samsung Galaxy devices.

This feature is really helpful, especially when you have to get in touch with someone in a matter of seconds. You can also add your parents, spouse, children or colleagues phone number to the emergency contacts for easy and quick access to them. Also, when you misplace your device anyone who finds it automatically knows someone close to you to call in order to get the phone to you.

Personally, I would advise all smartphone users to have This feature activated as it has a lot of benefits. Setting it up is also very easy. However, it is a two-step process as you will first have to activate the ICE (In Case Of Emergency) Group. After that, you’ll then enable the ability to call emergency contacts lock screen.

How To Assign Emergency Contacts On Samsung Galaxy Note 9

Like I said earlier, this process is a two-step process so we will first have to activate the In Case Of Emergency Group. To do that, simply follow the steps below.

Creating the ICE Group

  • Turn on your Samsung Galaxy Note 9.
  • Open the app drawer and select the Contacts App.

  • Tap on the Groups Button which is placed at the top part of the screen.

  • Tap on the ICE Emergency Contacts from the list of available groups.

  • Click On Edit and add your preferred phone numbers to the list.

  • Once you’re done adding the phone numbers, save it.

Now all that is left for you to do is to enable that list of emergency contacts to show up on your phone’s lock screen. To do that, follow the steps below.

  • Lock your Samsung Galaxy Note 9 device by tapping on the Power button Once.
  • Tap on the Power button once again to Power on the display but not unlock it.

  • Now Press and Hold the Phone Icon which is located in the lower left corner of the screen and drag it to the center.

  • Select the Emergency option.

  • From here, add those contacts you added to the ICE Emergency Contacts group and that’s it.

  • That’s pretty much how to assign emergency contacts on Samsung Galaxy Note 9. Unfortunately, you only add 3 contacts as your ICE Contacts on your lock screen. Hopefully, Samsung increases the limit to 5 or maybe 10 in a future update.

You can just make the call straight from your lock screen, without having to unlock your device.
