The Google Pixel 3 and 3 XL are Google’s 2018 Flagships and direct successor to Google’s 2017 Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL devices. The Google Pixel 3 comes with a 5.5-inch screen while the Google Pixel 3 XL comes with a bigger 6.3-inch screen. These Screen sizes are considered the norm these but even at that it still isn’t big enough for some people.

There is no denying that movies are better on a bigger screen, preferably a TV or Monitor and since almost every home has a TV set it’s only normal to look for a way to cast the content of the your Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL screen to your TV for a for a more immersed and exciting viewing experience. Now, there are a lot of ways to achieve this. However, the best way, at least for me, is to use the Google Chromecast.

The Google Chromecast is by far the most inexpensive way to cast your Smartphone screen to your TV and it works on both Android and iOS devices. With Google Chromecast you can sit on your couch and control what you want showing on your TV with your Smartphone. It’s just like having a TV remote with you but even better.

Requirements To Connect Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL To TV via Chromecast

  • Google Chromecast Device.
  • A TV with a HDMI Port.

  • Google Pixel 3 or Pixel 3 XL device.

  • A Google Account.

  • WiFi Connection with an active internet connection.

  • Latest version of the Google Home App which can be downloaded or Updated on the Google Play Store.

Once you have all these, you can then go ahead and follow the steps below.

How To Connect Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL to TV Via Chromecast

  • Plug In your Chromecast to your TV Via the HDMI Port. Next, plug the Chromecast USB port to your TV USB port or a power outlet using an adapter to power it.

Note – If you are using a TV with 4K resolution display, be sure to power the Chromecast using an adapter as the TV would not be able to power it.

  • Head to the Google Play Store on your Google Pixel 3 or Pixel 3 XL and Download The Google Home App. If you already have the app, then be sure to update it.
  • Launch the Google Home App and Select Devices which is located at the top right corner. You might also get a prompt at the bottom of the screen asking you setup a new device; that should work too.

  • Click On Set Up and wait till the Continue Button appears. When it does, click on it.

  • A Code will be shown on both your TV screen and Smartphone Screen. If these codes correspond, then click Yes.

  • This is where you get to name your Chromecast device and also customize your guest and privacy options how best you want. After that, Click Continue

  • Next, Connect Your Chromecast to your Wi-Fi network. Make sure it is the same Wi-Fi network your Google Pixel 3 or 3 XL is connected to.

  • Sign In to your Google account if you wish or skip this process. If you do Sign in to your Google account, you will have Access to all your YouTube contents.

  • After that, a tutorial will be show on-screen, Follow it to finish the process and when you’re done, you’ll now be able to cast your Smartphone Screen to your TV effortlessly.
