How to connect Netflix to Google Assistant to play content on TV

With the arrival of Netflix in Italy, many registered users of the platform have completely revolutionized the way they view films and TV series. As you well know, the service is available on various devices such as smartphones, tablets, PCs, smart TVs, Apple TVs, Google Chromecasts. The Mountain View company, however, along with its Chromecast, manages to offer some really interesting and probably better features than all the other brands.

In fact, if you are in possession of a Chromecast, you can connect it to your Google Assistant voice assistant (to be used on the phone, tablet and smart speaker) to access and play the content on Netflix, simply using the voice.

Select Netflix from among Google Assistant players

With the procedure that we will list below, anyone can connect their Netflix account to Google Assistant to quickly reproduce the entire catalog of the streaming service. However, this connection is not just limited to TV playback (Chromecast required), but on all devices on which the Netflix application is present and your account. First of all, let’s see how to do this:

  • Download the Netflix application to your device and log in
  • Call up Google Assistant and scroll up to see the updates
  • Click on the profile picture at the top right
  • Proceed with “Settings” and then with “Services”
  • Continue with “Video and Photo”
  • Connect the Netflix account by clicking on “CONNECT” in blue and then on “CONNECT ACCOUNT”

Immediately after completing the log-in, you will be prompted to choose the default account in case you are sharing a subscription with more than one person. After that, at any time you can call up the assistant and ask “Play XXXX on Netflix”. If instead, you want to take advantage of the TV screen with Chromecast connected the phrase to say will be- “Play XXXX on Netflix on TV”.
