How to Crop an Image in Microsoft Word

To crop an image in Microsoft Word, follow the steps listed below.

First off, launch Microsoft Word and open the Word document.

Next, click “Insert” in the menu at the top of the screen and then select “Pictures” from the drop-down menu.

Now, proceed to select the photo you want to add and then click “Insert” to add it.

Now, go to the “Picture Format” tab. The tab appears at the top of the window once you select the image. From the tab, select the “Size” group and then select the “Crop” button.

A drop-down menu will appear on the screen. Select the “Crop” option.

Now, you should notice cropping handles around the frame of the image you selected. To crop out a part of the picture, simply click and drag the cropping handles and adjust their position to remove the part you want to be cropped out.

After you have adjusted the frame to your preference, go to the Picture Format tab, select tab and then click the icon in the top half of the “Crop” option.

How to Crop a Picture Into a Shape in Microsoft Word

If you want to crop a photo but instead of the regular rectangular shape, you want to crop it into a shape, you can do this by following the steps listed below.

First off, launch the Microsoft Word application and open a document.

Insert an image into the document by using the steps above.

Now, go to the Picture Format tab which appears after you select the image.

Go to the Size group and then click the Crop button. From the drop-down that appears on the screen, click the “Crop To Shape” option.

Now, you should see a submenu containing a large library of shapes on the screen. Click the shape you want the image to be cropped to to select it. In this guide, we use use teardrop shape for an example.
