In this guide, we will be walking you through the process to take in order to disable location services on iPhone and iPad.

Location Services makes use of GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth and Cell tower location to know the location of the phone. Thanks to all the aforementioned, your phone can correctly pinpoint its exact location, this location can now be given out to apps that require your current location to function, I.e Maps.

Now, when the location services are turned off on your iPhone or iPad, it’s only normal that some apps will begin to malfunction or not work at all. So others that may work might be useless without the Location services. So if you rely on let’s say Maps or Google Maps to navigate and commute then turning it off might be a bad idea.

Also, if you’re an Uber (or any other e-hailing) driver then turning it off will cause the app not to work. Personally, I wouldn’t advise anyone to turn off Location services on their device as FindMyDevice relies on this to locate your device in the event that it gets lost or stolen. So turning it off will somewhat make your device unsecure.

The reasons as to why you shouldn’t turn off Location services are many. However, If you are still bent on turning off the Location services on iPhone or iPad then simply follow the steps below.
