  11. Rename the DWORD “New value n. 1″ just created as NoLockScreen. Regedit should automatically select the name of the entry for customization, but if not, right-click and select Rename.

  13. In the Value data field, type 1.

To find out if the change you’ve made has taken effect, press the Windows key + the L key to lock the PC. If you are directed directly to the login screen instead of the lock screen that generally proceeds, congratulations, you have successfully disabled the Windows lock screen!

How to disable the Windows 10 Pro lock screen

Although making changes to the Windows 10 registry disables the lock screen of Windows 10 Home and Windows 10 Pro, these latter users have an alternative method that is a little faster.

  1. Search for “Gpedit” in the Windows 10 search bar and select the corresponding result.
  2. In the Local Group Policy Editor window, look in the menu on the left and double-click Administrative Templates.
  3. Double-click on Control Panel.
  4. Select customization.
  5. Double-click Do not display the lock screen in the window pane on the right.
  6. Select Enabled at the top left, then select Apply and select OK.

Head to see if you have successfully disabled the lock screen by pressing Windows key + L. If you are directed to the login screen instead of the lock screen, congratulations, you have removed the Windows 10 lock screen from your system.
