How to Find the Menu in the New Google PlayStore Interface

Google has a reputation for regularly updating the user interface of its Android apps, and this does not exclude the Play Store. Google released an update earlier this year, which has made many of the menu items you may be looking to access in less obvious positions. In this guide, we will show you how to find them.

Google started to roll out slight changes to the design of the Play Store on Android. Just as they have done with other Google apps, they moved the main menu from the three-line hamburger icon previously situated in the top left corner of the screen to the user’s profile icon on the right side of the search bar.

While this change may be slight, visually speaking, moving an icon that had such an important function within the app can significantly change how users can navigate the app. This means you have to train yourself to check somewhere else for your app updates, your library, and to access the settings menu.

When you get the new UI on your device, you will notice that the hamburger menu icon (three horizontal lines) used to be in the top left corner will appear faded. If you tap on the icon, you will get an instruction like the one below, asking you to tap your profile icon. After this, you will no longer see the slide-out menu.

As we advance, if you want to access the menu in the Play Store app on your Android device, you will have to tap on your profile icon inside the search bar.

Once you tap on it, you will see a menu with all the options that used to be displayed whenever you tap the hamburger icon. These options include My Apps & Games, Library, Payments & Subscriptions, Settings, your Play Points info, and more.

And that’s pretty much it! While this change seems little, it could take some time for users to get used to it. If you use the menu very much, you definitely must have gotten used to tapping the old hamburger icon. However, now you have to get used to the new interface.
