How to Find the UDID of iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max

Apple just released a new set of iPhones, and they are all amazing. If you use the new iPhone XS or iPhone XS Max, lucky you. However, there are certain things you might want to know how to do your iPhone such as finding your device UDID (Unique Device ID). Apple seems to have made it harder to find the UDID on the new iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max or iPhone XR. UDID is a set of characters which is used to identify iPhones and iPads in the Apple Developer portal when you want to test iPhone apps and install beta updates of iOS.

Apple no longers allows users to get the UDID of your iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max using iTunes. However, if you use an older iPhone model, you could get the UDID of your iPhone by following the steps below:

  1. First off, connect your iPhone to your computer via USB.
  2. On your computer, go to iTunes and then click on the iPhone icon at the top of the window.
  3. Next up, go to the Summary tab and then click on the Serial Number label. Keep click it until it changes to UDID. Now, you should see the identifier field as well as the 40 hex character UDID. Copy the UDID by pressing Command+C on your keyboard.

There is a new method we have found which can be used to get the UDID of iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. However, we are unsure whether it is a bug since it is quite odd that Apple would miss something this big. So until Apple releases an update to tackle this problem, you can use the method below to get the UDID of your iPhone at least on a Mac.

  1. First off, connect your iPhone XS or iPhone XS Max to your computer via USB.
  2. Next up, go to  and then click on About This Mac.
  3. Now, click on System Report and then click on USB.
  4. You should see the iPhone option now. Click on it and then copy the numbers next to the Serial Number label.
  5. Add a – after the 8th digit, and you have your device’s UDID!

You can also use iFunBox on your Windows PC to get the UDID of your iPhone. This method is much easier. For some reason, however, iFunBox for Mac doesn’t let you check the UDID.
