In this article, we will handle the LG V40 ThinQ fast battery drain issues after you have finished updating the phone’s software.
Note- Before trying to follow our steps on the device, it’s wise to ensure that your device is working on the latest software version. If you notice that an update is available, then I recommend that you install and download it first. You should also ensure that the applications which are installed in your device are the latest versions available. You can check if an application update is available by simply heading over to the My Applications section which is located on your Google Play Store.
Since this issue occurred right after you updated your software, then this is most possible that it was caused by a software glitch. Below are some steps we recommend to fix the problem.
First Factory reset your LG V40 ThinQ
Ensure that you back up your device data before doing this method.
- First, go and Backup your data on the internal memory.
- Tap on Settings.
- Click on the ‘General’ tab.
- Click on Restart & reset.
- Click on Factory data reset.
- If desired, Click the Erase SD card checkbox.
- Click RESET PHONE >then click> Delete all > RESET.
STEP 2:- Start the LG V40 ThinQ in Safe Mode
There are scenarios when the applications you downloaded can actually cause this problem as it is not correctly optimized yet to run on the device’s recent software version. This usually occurs when the said application uses many processing power.
- With the screen on, simply go and Click and hold the Power button.
- Option menu will display to you, hold and press Power off.
- When told to restart in Safe Mode, Click OK.
- After your phone restarts, it shows Safe mode at the bottom.
If the problem does not happen in this mode then you need to find out what application is causing the issue, and then simply uninstall it.
Wipe the cache partition of the Phone
When the device gathers a lot of temporary system data this can actually lead to the data ending up being corrupt. This then leads to problems with the way the device works which is why it is a great idea to always wipe the cache partition of the device.
- From the Home screen, Click on Settings.
- Click the ‘General’ tab.
- Now go and click on Storage > click on Internal storage.
- Wait for the menu options show up.
- Click on Free up space.
- Click on Temporary files & raw files.
- Now pick the following options- Clip tray temporary files, Cached data, Raw files from the camera
- Now Click on – DELETE.
