If your phone has 3G/H/H+/4G, then it’ll be best to put it in 3G/H/H+/4G only; if it has 4G, then you can also put it in 4G Only mode. The option usually comes embedded in most phones. However, some phones lack this feature.

On some Android devices, you can only choose between 2G Only, 2G & 3G auto mode, and if your device has 4G, you’ll also get the 2G & 3G & 4G auto mode. What this means is that your Android device looks for the nest signal reception and switches to that. If there is no 4G coverage in your location, it switches to 3G. If there is no 3G/H/H+/4G Coverage, then it switches to 2G.

There are two ways to go about this. First, you can download an app from the Google play store, which will do all the heavy lifting and provide you with a one-click solution to force 3G/H/H+/4G Only on your Android device. This brings me to the second method, which we will be using here.

• First, Locate and Open your dialer app on your phone.
• Input the following codes depending on the type of device you are using: *#*#4636#*#*, *#*#2846579#*#*, ##626* OR ##786#
• Immediately you input the last *; you’ll be presented with a pop-up menu.
• Choose Phone Information. If you have a dual sim Android device, You’ll see Phone Information 1 and Phone Information 2. Choose the Sim Slot you’ll like to Force the 3G/H/H+/4G Only on.
• If Your Android device is in Auto mode, then you will see something like “GSM/WCDMA auto” if it is on 2G Only, then you’ll see something like “GSM Only.”
• Click on the “GSM/WCDMA auto” or “GSM Only” Depending on which one you see and Look for “WCDMA Only,” then Select it.
• Now go back, and you’re done. Your Phone is now in 3G/H/H+/4G Only Mode.
