The Google Pixel 3 has not notch while the first thing you would notice just staring at the screen of the Google Pixel 3 XL is the huge notch. This is because the stereo speakers as well as the dual camera setup has to be put somewhere. This has been a point of debate since the announcement of the device with some liking it because the huge notch makes for an even better camera over its predecessor. However, some others don’t like it even if it improves the camera.
If you’re among those that don’t like it and would like things to go back to normal then you would be happy to know there is a way to hide the Notch on Google Pixel 3 XL. However, there is no telling how hiding the notch on the Google Pixel 3 XL will affect third-party apps so you might need to put things back to the way it was before in order to access some stuffs on some third-party apps. How to Hide Google Pixel 3 XL Notch
Hiding the notch doesn’t actually remove the notch. What it does is to simply bring the status bar below the huge notch and cover the left and right side of the notch with black background so as to somewhat rhyme with the notch.
- Open the Settings Menu by clicking on the Settings App or Swipe down the notification panel and Click on the Gear Icon at the top right corner of the screen.
When you get to the Settings Menu, Scroll down to System and Click on It.
Select About Phone and Tap on Build Number Repeatedly till you see the “you’re now a developer” notification somewhere at the bottom of the screen.
Now go back to the Settings Menu and Search for “Notch”. You’ll see a result called display cutout, Click on it and Select Hide to hide the Notch.
Just like that, you’ve hidden the notch on your google Pixel 3 XL device. If you later become a fan of the Notch and would like to enable it at a later time, you can follow the same steps above to enable it.
