In this guide, we will be showing you how to hide WhatsApp status updates from some or all of your WhatsApp contacts. Statuses have definitely made WhatsApp more fun since it made its way to the platform some time ago. However, there were some privacy issues when it first arrived, but WhatsApp seems to be working on – making it better over time.

When status updates first came to WhatsApp, it was made in a way that only your contacts and people who saved your number or also had you in their contacts get to see your status updates. This made it possible for you to know all the people who might view your status when you put up one. Soon, people start complaining about contacts added to their WhatsApp for maybe business purposes viewing their status updates (Which is obviously meant to be private, probably for just close friends and family).

This prompted WhatsApp to release an update to that regard. With the new update, you can block or rather hide WhatsApp status updates from specific contacts or some contacts. You can choose to share a status update that can only be seen by specific people on your contacts list. This way, you can have contact on your WhatsApp list and not let see your status updates – giving you, the WhatsApp users the utmost privacy you need. To able to that, follow the instructions below.
