How to import or export contacts on Huawei devices

When moving from an old phone to a new one, you need to transfer existing contacts. The following are simple steps to import and export contacts on any Huawei / Honor smartphone –
How to import contacts to a Huawei device:
- Open the Contacts app.
- Touch the three points located in the upper right corner of the screen.
- Touch Settings> Import / Export.
- There are four ways to import contacts to the Huawei phone. These are- Import via Bluetooth, Import via Wi-Fi Direct, Import from SIM and Import from the archive.
- Select one of the options from the list above and follow the instructions on the screen.
That’s all! All your contacts will automatically be synchronized with your device.
How to export contacts to a Huawei device:
- Open the Contacts app.
- Touch the three points located in the upper right corner of the screen.
- Touch Settings> Import / Export.
- Select “Export to archive” or “Export to SIM”.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to start exporting contacts.

How to transfer contacts via Bluetooth
You can use Bluetooth on your Huawei to transfer your contacts from the old phone to the new one. If your old phone is an Android phone, your contacts should already be backed up with your Google account. Setting up the same Google Account on your Huawei should transfer your contacts.
- On the home screen, touch the Contacts icon.
- Touch Menu then Import / Export.
- Touch Import from another phone.
- Tap Next.
- On your old phone, turn on Bluetooth and set it as visible to other devices. Tap Next.
- Choose your old phone from the list.
- Touch Pair. You will also have to accept the connection on your old phone.
- You will be asked where you want to save your contacts.
- Your contacts will now be transferred to your new phone.
How to add contacts on a Huawei phone
Contacts saved to your Google Account will be synchronized with all devices connected to that account
- Swipe the home screen to the left.
- Touch Tools.
- Touch Contacts.
- Touch the + icon.
- Touch Save in.
- Select where you want to save your contacts. In this example, we will select Google.
- Enter the name of the contact, then touch the Phone number.
- Enter their phone number and then tap Mobile.
- Touch the type of number it is.
- To add a second phone number, tap Add phone number.
- Please enter the number.
- To add an email address, touch Email.
- Enter your email address.
- To add a photo to the contact, touch the Camera icon.
- You can take a photo using the camera or select a photo saved on the phone. In this example, we will select Choose from Gallery.
How to hide caller ID on Huawei
By default, the caller ID is displayed when making a call. Disabling caller ID prevents your name from appearing on the other person’s phone.
- From the main screen, touch the Phone icon.
- Touch the Menu icon.
- Touch Settings.
- Scroll down and tap More.
- Touch caller ID.
- Touch the desired caller ID setting.
- You can also hide your number for a single call by entering # 31 # before the number you wish to dial.
- If showing My Caller ID is turned off, you can show your number for a single call by entering * 31 # before the number.
How to share a contact on Huawei
Click on each step to see the action, click on the image or use the arrow keys. You can share a contact’s details with other people by sending them a contact card.
- Swipe the home screen to the left.
- Touch Tools.
- Touch Contacts.
- Touch and hold on the contact you want to share.
- Touch Share contact.
- Choose the format in which you want to share the contact details. In this example, we will select vCard.
- Choose how you want to share the contact. In this example, we will select Messages.
- You can select an existing message thread or create a new message. In this example, we will select New Message.
- Scroll and touch the contact you want to send the message to.
- Touch the Send icon.
