Making a screenshot is a common and standardized activity on computers, but on smartphones, each brand has its own procedure, then there’s the standard Android one. Here’s how to take a screenshot on LG smartphones and what you can do with the screenshot below.
Why take screenshots?
Screens can be useful for a wide range of reasons. Very often they serve:
- Document something on social media, text or e-mail to be sent to a friend without typing it.
- Back up some temporary information or data, such as a coupon or a short note.
- Record a result in a game.
- Provide evidence of a technical problem or an app error.
It is a very common tool and is often used with social media apps, such as Facebook, Snapchat etc.
That being said, it is a feature that you should use while respecting the privacy of others. Especially with e-mail and social media like Snapchat, you can unintentionally share content that others would rather not show. How to make a screenshot on a LG phone
Making a screenshot is simple on any LG smartphone. Here are the steps:
- With the screen you want to capture displayed, hold the power and volume down buttons simultaneously.
- The screen will flash after a moment and you will see a screen animation that reduces with the sharing icons and trash on the side.
- Tap the Share icon to open a quick share menu with an app grid to which you can share, including your most common messaging contacts, your social media apps and Google Drive. Tap the Trash icon to delete the screenshot from your phone.
If you don’t have social media apps, like Facebook, on your phone, you won’t be able to share the screenshot directly on the site. You will need to open your web browser, browse the site, then upload the screenshot as you would any other photograph.
Where do I find the screenshots I saved?
The screenshot itself can be found in the LG Gallery app or in another app you’ve designed to manage your photos. Depending on the settings of the app, you can order them in a “screenshots” folder or simply insert them in the general camera roll. Check which app you use to manage photos on your smartphone.
If you have an automatic backup system, your screenshots will be saved automatically. If you no longer need it, make sure you delete it regularly from your backup files.
How can I share my screenshots?
Screens are generally treated as standard photos from apps, so you’ll be able to share them just like you do with your photos. They will also be seen this way from the post-processing apps, so if you want to use a selfie filter on the screenshot, feel free.
As for the shots in which there are elements or people you don’t want to show, use a photo editing app to cut out any unnecessary parts of the image.
