How to make the most of new Google Calendar features

Although there are several software to manage calendars, notes, and appointments, Google Calendar is perhaps the most appropriate option and the one most appreciated by users all over the world. Google is well aware of this and, as far as possible, tries to keep this app up-to-date and experiment with new solutions to make it more useful.

Google Calendar is evolving to meet users

In addition to changes in design, a series of small innovations have recently been introduced. In this article we will show some of these, also revealing some functions already present for some time (and rather useful) that often remain hidden.

Where to find the basket

By clicking on a single event and then on the trash can icon, this is deleted. Even Google Calendar, however, has its own bin where the deleted events are accumulated.

To locate it, just click on the gear button located at the top right and select the item Trash. Google Calendar will show you all the deleted events in the order in which they were deleted. They will remain in the trash for thirty days, after which they will be removed permanently.

At this point, passing with the pointer on every single item, an arrow pointing to the left should appear – clicking on it will restore the deleted event. Naturally, it is possible to order events for different parameters such as creation date, title, and date of deletion.

As for the restoration, passing on a single item will also appear a trash can icon – in this case, a click will permanently delete the event.

Include links to events with other people

Google Calendar is adopting a new design and this involves new options that we will soon have available. These innovations often go to correct or optimize certain aspects of this app.

One of the many things that you may have found annoying about Google Calendar was the problem with links to match events. To collaborate with another user in this sense, so far we had to ask the other person to copy and paste the link.

New links added by other people will be opened in the Event Details window with the new design.

Contact information updated

With the new design, Google Calendar now makes it easier to view information about other people participating in the event. You can view contact information within the app by simply placing the cursor on the desired contact.

View various calendars side by side

Your calendar would be a total mess if you had to mix up work and free time. To keep things organized, this app allows you to have a work calendar, a personal calendar and a calendar for your children and so on.

The management of multiple calendars is not new (although many ignore it), but now thanks to the new design, you can better manage the overlap of different calendars.

Adjust the density

Now you can intervene on app colors in a rather incisive way. You can also use the color set option to make the calendar text on a white or black basis.

In conclusion

Google Calendar, also by virtue of the new updates, is the best software for managing calendars (even if there are alternatives). The integration with the other apps of the Google family and the increasingly advanced features are elevating this utility to a real must, both for those who must organize their work, both for those who want to use it only for their free time.
