In today’s world, you can find QR codes pretty much everywhere. From gas stations to restaurants, you can find them fulfilling different purposes. In this guide, we will show you how to quickly scan QR codes on your iPhone by using a shortcut in the Control Center.
How to Quickly Scan QR Codes on Your iPhone Via The Control Center
You can scan QR codes using the Camera app on your iPhone. However, whenever you want to take an action such as opening a web page, you would have to first tap on a notification.
However, if you add a hidden QR Code control to the Control Center on your iPhone, the Feature, known as Code Scanner, will automatically launch the designated app for you to take action (Mail app for email, Safari for webpages, and so on).
If you want to use this feature, you will first need to add the Code Scanner shortcut to the Control Center. To do this, follow the steps below:
First off, go to the Settings app on your iPhone. If you can’t find the app icon on your home screen, scroll down the screen to use Spotlight search.
In the Settings app, tap on the Control Center option.
On the page that comes up next, scroll down until you see the “Code Scanner” option. Tap on the “+” icon next to it.
The Code Scanner feature will now be added to the bottom of the Control Center. What’s next is putting the feature to use.
Go to the Control Center on your iPhone by swiping down from the top-right corner of the screen of your iPhone.
Next, tap on the new Code Scanner shortcut.
A dedicated QR code scanning interface will appear on the screen of your iPhone. Now, point your iPhone’s camera in the direction of the QR code.
Scanning it should take a second. Once it’s done scanning, the designated app will automatically be launched on your iPhone to complete the action.
And that is pretty much it!
