The read receipts which is also known as blue ticks is a feature that is enabled on all WhatsApp accounts by default; this feature allows the sender to know that the receiver has read the message.

Nevertheless, there is a way you can use this feature if you want to read WhatsApp messages without the sender knowing about it, then this article is for you.

Here is how to do this simple trick.

  • Click and Open your WhatsApp.
  • Click the overflow menu (the three vertical dots)  the click Account and the click on Privacy.
  • Move down and find and click “Read receipts.”

Well here is what you need to know about this process, the simple task will both affect the sender and the receiver.

Invariably, if you disable the feature, the sender will not know you have read their message. And then the same is the case for you too when you send a message.

Here is a method that both works for both group chat and individual.

This method uses WhatsApp Widget

Below are the steps to place a WhatsApp widget on your home screen:

  • Move down to the bottom. Now, you can see all your WhatsApp widgets.
  • Then long press the Whatsapp widget and then drop it on your home screen.
  • On the confirmation popup, select the “Create” option.

Now, you should see the WhatsApp widget. You can resize it if you want to.

From hence forth, when you receive a message on Whatsapp, you will be able to view it in the widget.
