If your Xiaomi phone runs MIUI 10, like the superb Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro, you can disable the ads and get rid of this annoying invasion of your user experience. You will need to do a couple of things in preparation for this procedure, but it’s quite simple to do. Here is our detailed guide.
How to remove ads on Xiaomi with MIUI by disabling the MSA app
This should be your first point of reference, as it can solve many annoying announcements on MIUI. Xiaomi doesn’t want you to turn it off and tried to make the process a little frustrating, but with a little patience, you can delete the MSA app. You will need to make sure your smartphone is running on MIUI 10 and is connected to a Wi-Fi or mobile network. Unfortunately, you can’t do it offline.
- Go to Settings, then to Additional Settings
- Under Authorization and revocation, you can search for MSA and press the toggle button to deactivate it
- Now wait 10 seconds, then press Revoke
- You may see a message informing you that you cannot revoke the authorization. Keep trying until you can.
How to remove personal ads on Xiaomi
Now that you have revoked the MSA authorization, you can start disabling the individual “recommendations” that the software wants to send. To disable personal ad advice, essentially preventing Xioami from recording your usage habits and collecting your data, proceed as follows.
- Go to Settings, then to Additional Settings
- In Privacy, search for ad services and then personalized ad advice

Disabling ads in the Mi Browser and in the Mi Security apps is relatively simple. Go to the Settings menu and follow these steps.

How to disable ads in Mi Music and Mi Video
To disable ads in your Xiaomi Mi Music and Mi Video apps, the process is basically the same as above, with only a few modifications necessary for Mi Video.
- Go to Settings, then System Settings app
- Find the application Mi music and activate receive recommendations off
- For Mi Video, open the app and tap Account, then Settings
- Turn off both tips and push notifications
How to disable ads in Mi File Manager, Folders and Downloads
To disable announcements in the File and folder management menu, including downloads, on Xiaomi MIUI 10, follow the same procedure you did for the Mi Browser and the Mi Security apps.
