Instagram certainly has no shortage of features that allow you to stay in touch with the online world. You can share anything from images and videos to text and voice messages. But what about the link/links? Surely there must be a way to share links to individual posts and profiles, right?
Page Contents:
Fortunately, there is, but it’s not as obvious as one might expect. As a result, many users don’t really know how to share Instagram links. If you want to discover all the options available to you, read on.
RECOVERY OF INSTAGRAM LINKS
The way to share links on Instagram is very simple. You just have to know where to look. Here’s how to copy a link on Instagram:
- Scroll to the post you want to share and touch the three-point icon in the upper right corner.
- Tap Copy Link.
You can paste the link where you want it, be it an Instagram DM, another messaging app or anywhere else. Another thing you can do is tap Share on… which will immediately open the list of available apps to which you can send the link.
If you’re wondering how to do the same for user profiles, you’ll be happy to know that it works exactly the same way. All you need to do is:
- Go to a user’s profile.
- Touch the three-point button.
- Tap Copy Profile URL.
As for your profile, it’s easy to find out what your URL is. Each account on Instagram has the same URL pattern:
https://www.instagram.com/username
Simply add the username you chose after the Instagram URL and you will have your link.
SENDING LINK INSTAGRAM ON DESKTOP
Copying a URL from the desktop version of Instagram is much easier than from within the mobile app. The reason is that the URL is clearly visible in the browser address bar. Simply switch to the profile or post you want to share, then copy a URL you see in the address bar and paste it wherever you want.
You can do it for all posts and profiles, regardless of whether they are private or not. Please note, however, that the person to whom you send the URL will not be able to see the profile or any of its contents if it is set to private.
ADDITION OF LINKS TO POST AND STORIES
Many users would also appreciate being able to connect to pages other than their Instagram posts. Unfortunately, this is not possible. You can copy a link to the description of your post, but it will not be clickable.
The only way to include a clickable link in your post is to run a paid promotion. For this, you will need a company account. It will allow you to add CTA (Call to Action) buttons and links to your sponsored posts.
As for stories, things are much simpler (and less expensive), but only if you have a verified account or at least 10,000 followers. In this case, you can add links to your story in just a few steps:
- When you take a picture, tap the link icon at the top of the screen.
- Tap the + URL button.
- Paste the link you want to add.
When you use a link in your Story, everyone who sees History will have the “See More” option to open the link by scrolling up.
LINK COPIED AND SENT
As you can see, sending Instagram links is simpler than it looks. Just a few taps and you can share stories and profiles wherever you want.
