The Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus came not long ago in all its glory and we are still yet to fully unravel all of its features. A lot of which we are just seeing for the first time and to be honest, these features look good and promising. We would be focusing on the notification reminder in this article.

Smartphone users usually have more than a dozen app they use, daily, weekly and some, Just once in a while. Ranging from BBM to Whatsapp to Facebook and Twitter. These are just the somewhat necessary ones, there are much more. Infact, the list is endless as more and more apps keeps popping up on the google play store by the day.

What is the one all these app have in common ? You’ll always get notifications from these apps, at least once in an hour. That is of course, if you’re a fairly social person. It can be more, it can be less depending on how frequently you use those app.

If you are a very social person, then you know you’ll be getting a lot of unread messages especially when you’re super busy. When that happens, there is a good chance the important notification gets mixed up underneath the heap of unimportant notification and you end up dismissing all of them at once.

This is where the notification reminder comes in to help know if or not you have important notifications.

The Notification Reminder Feature

This new feature dubbed the notification reminder on the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus can be configured for some app in order to let the users know when a very important notifications comes in. The apps you’ve configured to use the notification reminder feature will not only give you a one time alert for notifications.

They will keep giving you alerts at intervals with vibrations and tones till your attention is drawn to it. For example, you’ve submitted a CV to possible employer and awaiting time sensitive reply you would like to reply to as soon as possible.

All you would need to do is to activate notification reminder for your Gmail or any other email app you used on your Samsung Galaxy S9 or S9 Plus. So when the notification comes in, it keeps alerting you continuously at intervals until you attend to it.

How to Configure Notification Reminder on Your Samsung S9

  1. Ensure your Samsung Galaxy S9 is turned on.
  2. Open the settings menu.

  3. Scroll a little and click on Accessibility and tap Option

  4. Locate and click on More Settings

  5. Click on the Notification Reminder

  6. Turn it ON

  7. Customize the Notification Reminder how you want.

  8. Choose which apps you want the feature to work on.

Note – Any app you need the notification reminder feature to work on, you will have to turn it on individually. You’ll need to navigate to the said app, and toggle the off switch to on.

Conclusion

This like the LED notification are for those that deal with time sensitive information and have to reply or respond as quickly as possible. Asides that, i wouldn’t want an incessant beeping or vibrations from just a WhatsApp message from a friend distracting me from what I’m doing. Moreover, i can reply whenever and it still won’t make a difference.

So i guess if you need it, then you activate it. If not, then you don’t need the headache, disturbance and distraction it brings. Either way, the ball is in your court.
