Pokemon Go is still adored by millions worldwide. It is a mobile augmented-reality game that lets players wander the actual world, searching for scarce Pokemon to capture and battle with. As one who has played the game, you would’ve faced the problem of a Pokemon Go character not walking. There are lot of reasons for your character to not follow protocol and remain unmoved on your smartphone. In this article, i will highlight the quickways to end the problem once and for all.

How To Rectify Pokemon Go Character Not Moving

The first step to take is to confirm if the spinning white Pokeball in the upper left corner of your screen is moving. If the ball is moving, then there is proper connection to the Pokemon Go servers, and the servers are fully functional. If the screen is in freeze mode but the ball is still spinning, that means the Pokemon Go app is attempting a re-connection to the server.

If your screen is live but buttons are inactive, this might mean that you have lost your connection to the Pokemon Go servers and might have to reboot the game for it work like it should. This is an easy fix.

Exit The Game For A While

Another fast solution to your character not moving problem is you closing the application and then, after sometime, launching it again. This will aid reconnection to Niantic’s servers and ensure the game functions effectively

  1. Press the Home button.
  2. Launch a new app.
  3. Double-press the Home button so the multitasking screen can become visible.
  4. Change to the Pokémon Go card.
  5. Select the Pokémon Go card to relaunch the app.

Reboot

If your Pokemon Go character continues to freeze and do not move from side to side, making you continually reload Pokemon Go, this might be a bug problem or an issue with the application. I advice that you report the bug to Niantic, so they can fix the problem and even ensure it does not repeat itself. To report a bug issue, do this,

  1. Press the Home button.
  2. Double-pressing the Home button till you open the multitasking screen.
  3. Change to the Pokémon Go card and then swipe up on the card to force stop the application.
  4. Launch Pokémon Go again.
  5. Visit the Pokémon Go bug report page and explain clearly, the issue you are battling with on Pokemon Go.
