Messages in chats, groups, and channels can now be translated into any language thanks to a new Telegram feature. All while remaining within the interface without changing menus or doing anything else and not losing the thread of the conversation since the translation will be immediate.
In fact, Telegram can provide real-time translation in chats because of the integration with Google Translate that the messaging service supports. Google may have access to the messages that will be translated, as stated on the feature enablement page.
How to translate messages on Telegram
Here’s how you can use the message translation feature in your language directly on the Telegram mobile application available for Android and iOS.
- Open the Telegram app.
- Choose the Hamburger icon (the one with three horizontal lines)
- Now go to Settings
- Find the Language entry and tap on it
- Now you will see the languages available on Telegram listed and just above you will need to activate the Show Translate button which must be selected and colored blue in the right position
- As indicated in the explanation of the Language section, once this option is activated, a Translate button will appear next to the message to start instant translation
You can also exclude messages in your language from being translated by selecting the language from the list of exclusions so as not to translate messages into English, since we don’t need them. We will only have to select the item Do not translate the English language.
