How To View Full-Size Instagram Photos/Profile Pictures On Android & iOS

Instagram is an American photo and video sharing social networking service launched by Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger. However, 9 years ago, Facebook acquired the service for approximately US$1 billion in cash and stock. Since then, the application has been useful for uploading media that can be edited with filters, organized tagging and geographical tagging.

On the platform, posts can be shared publicly or with pre-approved followers, and users can even browse other users’ content by tags and locations while viewing trending content. As you already know, users are able to like photos and follow other users to add their content to a personal feed. If you are not aware, Instagram was formerly known to only allow content to be framed in a square (1:1) aspect ratio with 640 pixels to match the display width of the iPhone years ago, but these limitations were scrapped with an increase to 1080 pixels 6 years ago.

Instagram even added messaging features, the ability to add several pictures and clips in one post, and a “Stories” feature that is identical to its major opposition, Snapchat. This feature simply helps you to post pictures and videos to a sequential feed, with every post accessible by those following you for a full day. If you are not aware, as of January 2019, the Stories feature is being used by 500 million users on a daily basis.

Originally created for iOS in October 2010, Instagram quickly gained fame with 1 million registered users in two months, 10 million in a year, and 1 billion as of 2018. The Android version was launched in April 2012, followed by a feature-restricted desktop interface in November 2012, a Fire OS app in June 2014, and an application for Windows 10 in October 2016. In fact, as of October 2015, more than forty billion pictures had already been uploaded.

As of now, June 2021, the most followed Instagram account belongs to ex-Manchester United forward, Cristiano Ronaldo with over 300 million followers, and representing the ladies is popular singer, Ariana Grande. The most-liked photo on the platform is still a picture of an egg, posted by the account @world_record_egg. The photo was uploaded to surpass the previous record of 18 million likes on a Kylie Jenner post, and it achieved just that.

Nowadays, several smartphone cameras can compete favorably with premium DSLRs and we expect that trend to not end anytime soon. The truth is that it has never been simpler to snap a brilliant work of art to share with your Instagram followers, however, several Instagram photos often don’t appear as high-quality as the originals.

If you are not aware, Instagram allows the maximum image size of 1080p x 1350p, therefore if your picture is below this size, Instagram automatically enlarges it on your behalf. If it is higher, as it often is, Instagram will do the compression and resizing for you as well. Luckily for us all, there are ways around this issue and we’ll break down the solutions by showing you How To View Full-Size Instagram Photos/Profile Pictures On Android & iOS:
