The capability to add various images within one Instagram post was a hit when it came out newly 2 years ago.
It aided a more detailed way of sharing tales with lots of images instead of one or several posts with one photo each. Having no official name, the feature was soon tagged “carousel posts.” like the ones on Facebook and has been used often since then.
The missing piece in all of this is the capacity to edit individual photos within a post accommodating several images. You are unable to get rid of one post without erasing the entire thing and its the same story now.
So, to answer the question in the intro, No. It is not possible to delete one Instagram photo from a post accommodating several images. And as far as TechVaz knows, no 3rd party app or hack is available to get that done.
However, you can do and undo with Images Instagram, like the things you see below:
How To Include Several Images In An Instagram Post
The unveiling of the carousel feature was popular but has since died down. If you knew nothing about it, here is the way you can add multiple images to an Instagram post.
- Select a new post from within the app.
- Select the Multiple icons at the bottom of the page.
- Choose up to 10 images or videos.
- Click Next
- Edit the order if need be, add filters e.t.c.
- Click Next
- Include a caption and Share
Get Rid Of One Instagram Image
Taking one image from a carousel might be impossible, but you can work with single photos in an uncomplicated manner. That will be your hope since the app is all about photos.
- Launch Instagram and select the Home icon.
- Choose the Image you want to get rid of.
- Select the three-dot menu icon in the top right.
- Click Delete
Get Rid Of Several Instagram Pages
You are also able to choose multiple images to get rid of if you plan to free up space. Instagram will not allow you to choose several images simultaneously unless you plan to include them in a post so you will require the help of a third party app. You can add all the photos to an album and then get rid of that, but it is quite stressful.
Applications like Cleaner for IG used on Android and iPhone can help here. It also allows you to get rid of several posts and basically clean up your IG account. It costs nothing with in-app purchases. You will find similar apps that do the same job.
Get Rid Of An Instagram Album
I said recently about how you can bring all the images you want to go into an album and then erase that; this is how to go about that.
- Access a post accommodating the Instagram Album
- Select the three-dot menu icon in the top right of the screen.
- Click Delete and confirm
This move will get rid of the whole Album plus the post accommodating all the images. Can be a bit old-fashioned but the job will be done.
How To Keep Instagram Images Hidden Instead Of Getting Rid Of Them
The Instagram archive function is not very popular, but it is a very efficient way to keep your old photos hidden without having to delete them. If they are all the photos you have left and you do not want them gone, this is how you can have them but not display them.
- Choose a post you want to archive.
- Select the three-dot menu icon in the top right.
- Select Archive.
- Head back to the main Instagram screen.
- Select the clock icon in the top right. The post should now be visible on this page.
Reports have it that archives get missing if you shut down your account momentarily. No personal experience with that but you should know.
I find it would have been nice to have a date prominent on your articles so viewers can have an idea how old the info is… unless I missed it I cant seem to find the publish date…?
For instance the article states “The capability to add various images within one Instagram post was a hit when it came out newly 2 years ago.” how long ago was two years ago? See what I mean? tnx.
