HTC Desire 12s is a newly released smartphone that hit the market just yesterday, 17th December 2018 in Taiwan. The device is a mid range Android phone made to satisfy, if possible, everyone’s thirst for mobile phone performance.

Though this smartphone is not a high-end device, anyone who is very much accustomed to the use of top-rated devices may also find that the HTC Desire 12s can be a preferred alternative to high end expensive smartphones.

Design and Display of HTC Desire 12s

This is a phone that sports ceramic body design. Dimensions are 154.2 x 72.7 x 8.3 mm and it weighs 150 grams. It comes with three colors of black, red, and silver. Nevertheless, it is not a water resistant device but it has fingerprint sensor and no face recognition technology.

Display type is IPS LCD capacitive touch screen, which comes without a secondary display. The display screen size is 5.7 inches, pixel density is 282 ppi, and pixel resolution is 1440 x 720. Further, display colors in the device are 16 million. Pleasant features are 18:9 aspect ratio, 2.5D curved glass, and 75.03 percent screen to body ratio.

Camera Features

There is single primary rear camera of 13 MP f/2.0 aperture, which comes with LED flash. The camera setup at the front for selfies is also 13 MP f/2.2 aperture as well. It also comes without LED flash option. However, video performance is of 1080p@30fps FHD recording.

Marvelous features of the cameras are geo-tagging, auto focus, touch focus, panorama, HDR, face detection, self timer, watermark, scene mode, and others.

Hardware and Software

Besides, Android OS v8.1 Oreo comes with HTC Desire 12s as the operating system. The user interface is HTC Sense UI. Also, Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 MSM8940 chipset is powering the device. Process technology is 28nm, and there is also 64-bit architecture herein.

CPU comprises of Octa-core Cortex A53, while the GPU is Adreno 505.

Storage Capacity and Sensors HTC Desire 12s

The device is into two variants. The RAM is accordingly 3GB and 4GB., while the internal memory is divided into 32GB and 64GB. In view of this, the smartphone comes with 3G + 32GB, and 4GB + 63GB storage capacities respectively. On the internal storage department, they can both be increased to 128GB with the use of a micro-SD card.

Sensors found on the device are up to five and they are accelerometer, proximity, light, fingerprint, and compass.

Network and Connectivity

HTC Desire 12s is a 4G Android phone operating effectively on GSM, HSPA, and LTE networks. In view of this, there is 2G, 3G, and 4G in the smartphone. Also, there are two hybrid/nano SIM card slots in the device.
