The embattled smartphone maker known as HTC has released a new smartphone called HTC Exodus 1 on the 23rd October, 2018. The smartphone maker has made final resorts to change to new technology. Therefore, there is a shift in focus to developing its own crypto-currency wallet known as Zion in a bid to make this new device function as a hardware crypto-currency wallet.

This new device, the HTC Exodus 1 comes with a secure enclave, a secured area on the phone’s chip kept separate from Android Operating system for use of technology made by SoftBank’s ARM Holdings to keep a customer’s crypto-currency safe.

Design and Display of HTC Exodus 1

Design type for HTC Exodus 1 is aluminum alloy which allows it to appear very sleek. It weighs 188 grams and dimensions are 73.95 x 156.62 x 9.7 mm. It is water resistant, though there is no secondary display. It comes in blue color only for now.

Screen size for the device is 6 inches of 16 million colors. Display type is QHD+ Super LCD 6 capacitive touch screen. Similarly, pixels resolution is 1440 x 2880. Meanwhile, screen to body ratio is 80. 47 percent, pixel density is 537 ppi, and aspect ratio is 18:9. It has multi-touch capacities of 10 fingers. Protection features include scratch resistance, 2.5D curved glass screen, and Corning Gorilla Glass.

Camera Features

Quad camera setup in HTC Exodus 1 is a marvelous surprise. To the rear there is dual shooter setup of 12 MP plus 16 MP with different apertures and dual LED flash. Features include auto focus, continuous shooting, HDR, panorama, face detection and more.

At the front, there is another dual camera setup of 8 MP plus 8 MP which come without flash. However, the aperture is f/2.0. Other nice features are included herein. Smartphones that arrive with dual selfie camera are few and this makes the device unique in some aspects.

Hardware and Software of HTC Exodus

Android 8.0 Oreo runs the HTC Exodus 1. However, that comes with Edge Sense 2 user interface. Hardware includes Qualcomm Snapdragon 854 process technology 10nm. Meanwhile, CPU is Octa-core 2.8 GHz 8-Cores, and GPU is Adreno 630 2-Cores. They operate on 64-bit architecture.

Storage Capacity and Sensors in HTC Exodus 1

There is 6GB of RAM not expandable on the device and the internal storage is as high as 128GB which the user can increase up to 256GB with a microSD card.

Sensors in the HTC Exodus 1 includes fingerprint at the rear, accelerometer, proximity, ambient light, compass, gyroscope, and Edge sensor.

Network and Connectivity

HTC Exodus 1 has 2G, 3G, and 4G internet network connectivity and these work with dual Nano SIM card slots. There are other components such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, hotspot, Type-C, GPS< A-GPS, GLONASS, NFC, HDMI, 3.5mm audio jack, facial identification and more.

Battery Life

It has 3500 mAh Li-Po non-removable battery helping as backup throughout the day. However, this battery works without wireless charging but comes with fast charging technology.

Price and Availability

Starting price of HTC Exodus 1 is $960 USD. That is BTC 0.15 or ETH 4.78. It was released in October 2018 and immediately was made available in shopping stores online and offline. However, note that you can only buy it in crypto-currency.
