HTC’s 5G smartphone appears in official documents, set to be launched launched H2 2024

Even though HTC sold its mobile division to Google, HTC will continue to produce smartphones. The mobile tech giant hasn’t made any announcements that we know of yet but there were reports back in January which suggested that the Taiwanese company had a 5G smartphone in the works which it plans to roll out in the second half of the year.

Well, it’s beginning to look like the reports were accurate after all. Some folks over at AndroidSoul spotted an HTC smartphone at the Bluetooth Launch Studio, the entity that approves all unreleased devices that include Bluetooth support.

The HTC product with model number 2Q6U was listed on April 20. We do not think that this is a coincidence that Evan Blass, who is a professional leakster also made it known just a few weeks ago that HTC is already working on a 5G smartphone with the same model number.

Now, thanks to the official documents filed at Bluetooth Launch Studio, the rumors are confirmed. Unfortunately, though, we weren’t able to get any other information from the listing aside from the fact that HTC is working on a 5G smartphone. We do not know any other specs of the phone.

Also, if HTC indeed has plans to launch a 5G smartphone in the second half of the year, then it will face fierce competition in the US where other tech giants like Samsung and LG will launch their 5G handsets as well.
